The idea behind OctaBreak Pool
The idea is simple: offer a complete, approachable game of 8-ball pool that opens quickly and feels comfortable on both computers and phones.
The game combines familiar rules with an aiming guide, visible shot power, ball-in-hand placement, a 30-second shot clock, and a computer opponent that actively looks for its best available play.
Its design draws on the clarity of classic console billiards games while using modern browser technology for responsive controls, smoother animation, and a cleaner presentation.
The goal is not to remove the challenge from pool. It is to make every decision easy to understand: study the table, choose the contact point, control the power, and accept the result.
What we value
- Readable play: the table, turn, timer, and shot power should be clear at a glance.
- Fair rules: fouls, ball in hand, group assignment, and the 8-ball must behave consistently.
- Useful challenge: the computer should search for a real shot instead of wasting its turn.
- Accessible controls: mouse and touch input should feel natural without forcing a screen orientation.
- Browser-first design: no installation, no account, and a package that also works locally.
